Best Traffic.

Purpose

Basically, as the name suggests, we looked for the best traffic/money ratios in hosting packages, while having all the other "standard" features as well. We are only looking for packages that offer at least 10,000 GB of monthly traffic, as we assume that the people interested in best traffic packages expect heavy traffic for their websites.

What to look for?

• Bandwidth. More is better. At least 10,000 GB.
• Space and Extra Features. All the rest of the features become secondary as the purpose is to have as much bandwidth as possible and usually "standard" features are enough. For more features consider getting Dedicated hosting where you can install whatever you need on the hosting server.
• Low price. It's a fierce competition out there and don't be surprised to pay low prices for good traffic packages.

What we found?

HostGator has a very good offer regarding traffic. The Swamp hosting plan offers unlimited bandwidth for $12.95/month (3 years contract)! The plan has enough disk space (1,000 GB) and it comes with unlimited add-on domains, sub domains, databases, email and FTP accounts. If your bandwidth needs are not that "extreme" and you want to pay less, you might want to consider the All-Purpose Hosting package.

Usually the "Unlimited" bandwidth or disk space is a warning sign. Digging through the HostGator's Terms of Service agreement we found chapters #6 and #7 which deal with violations and cancellations and we quote: "HostGator reserves the right to cancel the account at any time with or without notice. … User may not: a) Use 25% or more of system resources for longer then 90 seconds. There are numerous activities that could cause such problems; these include: CGI scripts, FTP, PHP, HTTP, etc. … Accounts that constantly create and delete large numbers of files (>50,000 inodes) on a regular basis or causing file system damage may cause your account to be flagged for review …" It seems that if you're not using the hosting account as a torrent seed box or use it to transfer media files not related to the website, you will benefit from unlimited bandwidth.
